Izola Letter Opener

Constructed in brass plated alloy, and equiped with a hole for hanging, it's functionality goes beyond what the names suggests. Both sides are engraved with metric measurements of eith inches or Centimetres.

The letter opener is best known for its role in patrick Henry's iconic speech to the Virginia Convention in 1775, where he convinced the Virginia House of Burgesses to deliver troops to fight in the revolutionary War by exclaiming "Give me Liberty or give me death". He then pretended to open a letter opener into his side.
